Konos

In end of October 2006, a new cluster named Konos was started up. The system was financed through six research projects by Department of Mathematics and Department of Cybernetics of University of West Bohemia. The main investor was the Pilsen branch of ITI.

The cluster Konos has 37 nodes. Every node equipped by two 64-bit CPUs AMD Opteron, from which 27 nodes have 4 GB RAM and remained 10 nodes have 1 GB RAM. The components of a cluster are connected to each other through fast gigabit Ethernet. A RAID array with capacity 1,5 TB is connected to the Konos.

The cluster Konos is interconnected with the computing facilities of MetaCentrum. Members of ITI have priority in using this cluster.
